Happy Advisers’ Day!
 
District On-line Testing for FBLA. Most of our FBLA districts have completed their on-line testing. You all have done a fantastic job! We had very few challenges. Thank you to all advisers, district directors, and proctors for all of their hard work.
 
Celebrate FBLA-PBL WeekFBLA-PBL Week is February 5-11, and it is a great way for advisers to get local chapters in the news and promote the organization in their schools. Please plan and participate in FBLA-PBL Week activities. Click resource packet for ideas and PSA announcement for an audio message that can be used on the school PA system, played by local advisers in classes, or sent to local radio stations. 
 
Florida PBL State Conference Registration Packet. The 62nd annual Florida Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference will be held in Tampa, March 15-18. The registration packet is available on our web site. Please note that all forms have a postmark deadline of February 15. Don’t forget to email the registration spreadsheet as well.
 
Florida PBL Millionaires Club.  The Millionaires’ Club is designed to recognize and award outstanding members who have contributed to their chapter, school, and community.  The point system is used to identify events that demonstrate leadership skills, professional development, chapter participation, and service to school and community. Members who qualify for this honor and submit the completed form by the deadline are recognized at the State Leadership Conference.
 
The chapter adviser or chapter representative must turn in completed forms when the registration packet is picked up at the State Leadership Conference during official registration hours or at the chapter adviser meeting on the first night of the State Leadership Conference. These forms are available on the Florida FBLA-PBL web site (www.floridafbla-pbl.com). Go to PBL and then click on Millionaires’ Club.
 
Florida FBLA State Conference Registration Packet. The 62nd annual Florida Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference will be held in Orlando, April 28-May 1. The registration packet is attached and is also available on our web site. Please note that all forms have a postmark deadline of March 21. Don’t forget to email the registration spreadsheet as well.
 
Florida FBLA-PBL State Parliamentarians.  Any student who is interested in being considered for the FBLA or PBL State Parliamentarian position must complete the state officer application that is included in the SLC registration packages and take the Parliamentary Procedure exam at the conference. Students must submit the application postmarked by the date specified in the SLC registration packet.
 
Professional Division Recruitment Award. Don’t forget that the Florida FBLA-PBL Professional Division will be honoring the Florida FBLA chapter that has recruited the most Professional Division members this year. This chapter will receive an award at the FBLA State Leadership Conference.
 
Florida FBLA-PBL Foundation Chapter MembershipThe purpose of the Florida FBLA-PBL Foundation is to raise funds for Florida FBLA-PBL. These funds are to be used to benefit members of our organization. Since its inception the Foundation has given thousands of dollars back to local chapters and individual members. Any chapter wishing to make a donation to the Foundation is encouraged to do so. Here is how your chapter can benefit when donating to the Foundation: 
 
Gold Membership--$500 donation and above
·Priority seating at all general sessions for state fall conference and state leadership conference
·Chapter will be invited to meet and greet with state leadership conference keynote speaker
·Members will receive an exclusive gold membership ribbon at state leadership conference
·Chapter recognition in state leadership conference program and on website
·Chapter will be recognized at the state leadership conference
 
Silver Membership--$250 donation
·Reserved seating at all general sessions for state leadership conference
·Chapter recognition in state leadership conference program and on website
·Chapter will be recognized at the state leadership conference
 
Bronze Membership--$100 donation
·       Chapter recognition in state leadership conference program and on website

Drawing for “Feed the Foundation.” Are you aware of all the Florida FBLA-PBL Foundation does for our members and chapters? The Foundation provides grants, funds the state officer Tallahassee Trip, provides training for first and second year advisers, sponsors cash awards for some of the competitive events, gives $100 to each new chapter, and much more. Each year chapters are given the opportunity to join the Foundation at different levels…the highest being the Foundation Gold Chapter. These chapters donate $500 to the Foundation and are then given several things at the State Leadership Conference including recognition in the program, ribbons, and reserved priority seating. 

 
 
Are you interested in getting all of those perks for the 2013 State Leadership Conference? If so, you will want to participate in our Feed the Foundation Basket Drawing. Just bring a basket of goodies that someone might buy a $1 ticket for. Then at the second general session we will award the baskets to the winners. The chapter whose basket raises the most money for the Foundation will receive Gold Membership Status for the 2012-13 year. Ideas for baskets: a pet basket (all types of treats, etc. for a dog or cat); a movie basket (movie gift cards or a new DVD, popcorn, candy, etc.); a gift card basket; a game basket; an electronics basket. I know you can come up with many more. Also, every chapter that participates will be recognized at the second general session as having participated in the Feed the Foundation project. 
 
Come up with some great ideas and make those baskets count. Be sure to have a typed card that tells what is in the basket and includes your school name. Baskets will be collected at conference registration. This is open to FBLA and PBL chapters and will be done at both conferences.
 
FBLA-PBL Day at Busch Gardens. Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 25! Join FBLA and PBL members and advisers from across the state at Busch Gardens. An order form for discounted tickets is available at www.floridafbla-pbl.com under Upcoming Events. All orders must be received by February 8, 2012. This is always an exciting day…be sure to join us! 
 
National Leadership Conference. Remember, that the deadline for many events for the national conference will be due within a couple of weeks of the FBLA State Conference. You are encouraged to know if your students win at the state conference will they be willing to go to the national conference in Orlando.
